PPPs

This year, we had PPPs at the end of Term 3 instead of Term 2.  We talked to our parents about our progress in Writing, Reading, Maths and Handwriting.  We were proud to show them our school work so they could see things we could do, and also things that we were still working on.

Planting our Potato Men

After the Rock Bottom production, we dressed potatoes like cave men and women, just like Jack and his Grandma in the book, Potato Men by Pamela Allen. 

When we checked our cave people six weeks' later,  we discovered that  that they had grown long shoots and were ready to plant.   First, we had to undress them so that we didn't leave material or pins in the ground.  Then we planted them in the school vegetable garden by Room 1 and 2.

Now spring is here, we planted some new flower seedlings in our Room 18 garden.

Wacky Wednesday Mufti

This was a special mufti day when you had to wear something wacky.  People wore odd shoes; odd socks; clothes inside out, upside down and back to front; funky hair styles and funky colours . . . we still had to do our school work though!

ASB taught us about financial literacy

ASB gave us a lesson on financial literacy.  We found out how debit cards work, and how banks and shops communicate with each other when you buy something. 

School Disco

This year, Cockle Bay had a Disglow - everyone got glow bands which looked fabulous - we had glow sticks, glow ear-rings, glow bunny ears, glow glasses, glow necklaces and glow bracelets.  The dancing was pretty good too!
